USEFUL TIPS.

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR PROFILE

Check out these useful tips below on logging in to your profile, looking up new casting opportunities and managing your bookings!

  • Make sure you have your log in details handy whenever logging in via our App or our website – this will be your Artist ID and Password.  If you have any issues with logging in, email artists@withsomebody.co.uk and we’ll be happy to help.

  • Refresh your profile by changing your photos and uploading new ones regularly – it’s important for us, and productions to know how you currently look, so a good, clear selfie will do the trick!

  • Ensure your measurements are always up to date – this is really useful for attending fittings, and very important – costume departments will often make costumes to your sizes, and if your sizes aren’t accurate, it causes much more work for the crew.

  • Add any relevant or special skills you have, and add pictures of this too if you can – you never know what the next casting might call for!

  • Are your contact details up to date? – Ensure that your mobile number and email address are correct as we may need to contact you regarding a casting or your booking.

  • Respond to us as quickly as you can - it’s essential that if one of our team contacts you, you reply at the earliest opportunity.  Those who respond quickly and correctly will stand a higher chance of being booked.

SHINE ON SET!

Want to find out how to really maximise your experience on set? Whether it’s your first time or your 100th, have a look below and discover how to best prepare for and enjoy your time on set!

Are you ready??  - Preparing for Set

  • Make sure you are near your phone the day before you are due on-set. We, or production, may need to contact you

  • Be prepared to receive your shoot details AT ANY TIME the day before the shoot

  • Double check you read all of the details you have been given and make sure you CHECK IN

  • Remember -  YOU have been booked for a reason - production need YOU there!  If you don’t show up for a booking, or pull out after being booked, you are letting us AND the production down – dropouts cause a lot of extra work and stress for everyone

  • Timing is key - it is essential that you are always on time, whether it’s for a shoot, fitting, casting or rehearsal

  • Make sure you pre-plan your route to set. For all shoots, you will be given the address, which can be checked on Google Maps.  Contact the Project Manager if you are unsure of anything

  • Make sure you follow costume, makeup, hair, beard, eyebrows and any other instructions properly, these details are to make sure you fit the style of the film.

  • We advise that you don’t bring valuables to set.

  • If you have any questions before your booking, then your Project Manager’s contact details will be in your CHECK IN

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR SHOOT DAY

  • It will take time to sign in when you arrive, and out at the end of the shoot.  You MUST sign in and out – on Film & TV shoots, this will be either a paper release form or our online chit system.  For commercials, you won’t receive a chit, but will likely sign a release form.

  • It can be a long day on set! Be prepared for very early call times (we will always do our best to warn you if these are pre-6am), and for potential late wraps too. Overtime will be applicable after a certain amount of hours, depending on the payment agreement for the shoot.

  • The Assistant Directors (ADs) are in charge and are there to look after you and your safety, and to ensure that filming goes smoothly.  Please listen to what they or the runners say.

  • If you need to leave set for any reason (to go to the toilet, to make a phone call, or for any other reason) please check with ADs or runners first – you may be about to be called to set.

  • Never take mobiles or cameras to set, leave them at the unit base.

  • Please don’t take any photographs during filming

  • If you have an issue on set, please speak to an AD or runner.  If you don’t feel comfortable to speak with them, get in touch with your Project Manager at Somebody Casting as soon as you can.

  • VERY IMPORTANT: On all productions you will be bound by strict confidentiality. You must not share photographs or any information about the production on any Social Media website or app, or any other channels. Failure to adhere to this will result in removal from the project, our books and could result in legal action.

  • If you are wearing a wig/hair accessory, don’t remove it yourself.  Please wait for costume or makeup to remove it for you. If you have any items from costume, make sure you return them at the end of the day.

  • Please be professional – you are a representative of Somebody Casting.  Bad behaviour on-set or towards crew or fellow artists will reflect badly on you and us.  More often than not, we get positive feedback from production – this makes us more likely to want to book you for future work!
